Although in-car GPS systems are quickly becoming a commodity, it is amazing to see the differences in graphics quality from one GPS to the next. The Mio C320 offers an excellent graphics interface that includes fast scrolling for the maps and anti-aliasing for the vector graphics. Entering an address is also faster than most competing products, thanks to a list of recently visited city and addresses.

I recently learned a word that explains my relationship with hex bolts --
resistentialism: the belief that "inanimate objects display hostile desires towards human beings." Hex bolts, and the hex keys designed to tighten and loosen them, seem to hate me. When I have to remove a hex bolt, the bolt is usually hiding deep in a cranny that allows for about 15 degrees of rotation before I must remove the hex key, rotate it, and start again.

For $48 a company called "Deal Extreme" sells a
"personal cell phone signal blocker device" - Perhaps the best or worst gift you can possibly give this year. Instructables member "Blastwavelabs" bought one and it appears the jammer ships set to frequencies outside North America but it
can be modded to work by turning the trim pots a bit (small potentiometers to tune/trim the voltage)... I'm not sure that would actually work that great without a spectrum analyzer, either way a fun read and please feel free to debate in comments about why a device like this is needed :)
