The Mimobot

This is my last installment of the Holiday Gadget Guide but there have been a number of items they I have not yet been able to cover. These include Logitech’s upcoming Alto laptop stand, Lenovo’s Thinkpad X60 Tablet, Nintendo’s DS Lite, and a bunch more, but for this post I settled on the Mimobot. This product has been around for some time, in fact I reviewed it back in February, but they really started to get some major press this holiday season.

The Mimobot is a stylized USB flash drive from Mimoco. Sounds kinda boring, but seeing one will probably change your mind. These flash drives are designed by renowned artists and are available only in limited quantities, generally batches of 200 to 500. In addition to alien-looking designs and pop art creations, the drives come in a number of different styles, the big hit this year being the Star Wars designs. All the drives are the same shape, but with so many designs to choose from finding an appropriate one for you or a friend should be no problem.

Aside from the cool exteriors, the Mimobots are normal old flash drives generally available between 512MB and 4GB. Flash drives can make for thoughtful gifts and useful tools so you may want to stop by Mimico’s site and look around.
