I’m not ashamed to admit that the best gift I got this year was a kitchen appliance. As someone who works from home, lunch had become a total bore until my wife gave me my very own Panini maker.
Like those industrial Panini presses you see in lunch spots around town, the Hamilton Beach Gourmet Sandwich Maker is a pretty straight-forward affair — it’s essentially just a couple of hinged electric grill pans — but man-oh-man does this thing make a meal.
Simply prepare your sandwich as you would normally (my personal fave is a honey turkey, Havarti cheese & pesto concoction), place it in the pre-heated device and start pressing. Roughly two minutes later, you’ve got yourself a toasted sandwich that would make dear old Quizno’s mouth water.
