It’s happened to the best of us: you stand up without taking off your headphones and end up almost pulling your laptop off the table. (Hopefully it’s “almost!”) Even if you don’t send your laptop to the floor, the lateral force from on the headphone jack may cause it to bend or even break.
The “Replug” fixes that. It attaches to the end of your headphone cable like a tiny extension cable, except its 3.5mm plug is attached by magnets strong enough to hold it in place during typical use, but not so strong they won’t disconnect when undue pressure is applied. (It’s exactly the same idea behind the power cords on Apple laptops or those used in electric kettles and fryers.)
Now while Replug claims their unit works well with MP3 players, too, I could see it snapping off too easily in my pocket. (That’s where I normally wear my MP3 player.)
The Replug is $18 from their site, plus shipping.
